Whitby is always worth a visit whilst staying @ Flowery Dell Lodges
It takes around 1.5 hours and as you arrive you can hear the sound of the seagulls and smell the salty air.
Lots of Parking which is Pay and Display or you can Park and Ride in Peak Season.
The main pier is your traditional seaside town with amusements, cafes, bars, Dracula Experience & all the seaside treats.
If you cross over the bridge there is a second pier (very steep incline) as well as the Abbey and lots of different shops including Whitby Jet and Whitby Kippers which have been smoked in the same location for several generations.
Fish & Chips is a must whilst visiting Whitby. We chose Trenchers which never disappoints and has a Takeaway and Restaurant. Was lovely with homemade tartare sauce, and the fish was delicious.
Followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding very tasty.
Finished with a good walk up the Steps to the Abbey with beautiful views of the coast.
Whitby is steeped in history well worth a visit.
